Returning to Chicago this June, NeoCon and Design Days 2026 brought together manufacturers, designers and workplace specialists from across the commercial interiors industry for a week of product launches, showroom visits and industry conversations. Members of TFP’s US and UK teams attended both events, engaging with manufacturers and identifying the ideas shaping the next generation of workplaces.
Across both events, several themes emerged as most relevant to the challenges our clients are navigating today: the workplace as a destination, designing for human experience, and activity-based flexibility. Hospitality and residential influences ran throughout, with softer forms, richer materials and bolder colour bringing new warmth and personality to commercial interiors. Acoustics, neuroinclusion and wellbeing featured prominently, alongside a clear shift away from fixed workstation clusters toward distributed, activity-based layouts. Sustainability remained present, embedded more naturally through durable materials, circular design and material innovation.
