Sustainability is embedded in everything we do. We’re committed to making a positive impact for people, communities and the planet, supporting clients to reach their sustainability goals and helping move the industry forward.
We measure our impact and share progress openly. As a Certified B Corporation, we meet verified standards for social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
We’re working towards net zero by 2040, guided by Science Based Targets that help us reduce emissions across our projects, operations and supply chain.
Aligned to the 1.5°C pathway, cutting emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2040.
Impact strategy
Our strategy focuses on three connected areas, aligned with the B Corp framework and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Each pillar shapes how we work, guiding ongoing improvements in the way we run our business and in how we support clients to meet their goals.
Environment
We recognise that the built environment is a major contributor to global emissions, resource use and waste. As furniture consultants, we have a responsibility to minimise these impacts and help our clients achieve their environmental goals. We’re embedding carbon reduction, reuse and circularity into every stage of our work and strengthening accountability across our supply chain, providing data, guidance and responsible sourcing to help clients make low-impact, informed decisions.
How we support our clients and the planet
Net zero by 2040
We’ve been measuring our carbon footprint with Planet Mark since 2015 and began tracking Scope 3 emissions in 2023 to better understand our wider impact. We are using Scope 3 emissions data to identify decarbonisation opportunities and work with suppliers to reduce their footprint.
Supply chain impact
We assess supplier performance across key sustainability factors, including environmental impact, packaging and materials. All suppliers onboard with us and sign our Code of Conduct, giving clients confidence that every partner involved in their project meets strong environmental and ethical standards.
Circularity & reuse
We embed circular principles from the outset, helping clients extend furniture life and reduce carbon. Through reuse, second-hand sourcing and circular specifications, we minimise reliance on virgin resources and deliver measurable environmental and operational benefits.
Carbon reporting
Furniture can account for up to 30% of a building’s lifecycle emissions, making it a key part of any sustainability strategy. We provide lifecycle and carbon data for FF&E, helping clients understand the impact of their choices and support low-carbon goals.
Certifications & KPIs
We have extensive experience supporting sustainability certifications, including SKA, WELL, LEED, BREEAM and Living Building Challenge, and also develop bespoke sustainability charters for clients with their own project-specific goals and targets.
We’ve been Planet Mark certified since 2015, demonstrating our commitment to understanding our impact and achieving net zero by 2040.
People and communities
We’re committed to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone can thrive, and to extending that impact through our community partnerships and the work we deliver with clients. We help guide procurement choices that create social value, from working with socially driven and locally based suppliers to specifying materials and furniture that support resident and employee wellbeing.
Positive impact for people and communities
Diversity & representation
We’re committed to diversity, equity and inclusion across our team, creating a work environment where everyone feels valued. Women represent 60% of our global team and 50% of management roles.
Inclusive culture
Our people are at the heart of TFP. We invest in training, development and wellbeing to build a supportive, high-performing culture where everyone can do their best work.
Fair work
We uphold fair work and human rights across our business and supply chain through supplier onboarding, audits and clear ethical standards.
Social value
We help clients create and measure social value through furniture sourcing, from working with socially driven and locally based suppliers to selecting materials and products that support inclusive and wellbeing-focused environments.
Community impact
We give back through volunteering and charity partnerships, strengthening connections in the communities where we live and work while fostering a shared sense of social responsibility.
Governance
Our governance framework helps us stay true to our values, meet our commitments and build trust with our people, clients, suppliers and project partners. We embed strong governance across our operations through clear policies, transparent reporting and responsible procurement practices, supported by independent certifications and oversight at every level.
Responsible governance and accountability

We’re a Certified B Corporation, meeting verified standards for accountability, transparency and performance. This drives continual improvement across our social, environmental and governance practices.
Policies & standards
We operate with clear, ethical and sustainability-led policies, supported by ISO-certified quality and environmental management systems. These frameworks ensure consistent, accountable delivery across our operations and projects.
Responsible procurement
Our structured procurement processes, along with order tracking, documentation and supplier checks at onboarding, reduce risk and support consistent, reliable delivery across every stage of a project.
Supply chain
Supplier onboarding and annual audits ensure partners meet the standards set out in our Supplier Code of Conduct and Supplier ESG Programme, strengthening accountability and reducing risk across our supply chain.
Net zero
Our SBTi-approved net-zero targets guide business planning and decision-making, ensuring carbon reduction is embedded across operations, supply chains and project delivery.
Tracking our progress
We publish an annual Impact Report to share progress against our sustainability goals, highlight the impact created with our team, clients and communities, and set out where we still need to improve. It also outlines our long-term commitments, providing a transparent view of both our achievements and the work ahead.
We’ve always looked beyond our own business, collaborating with suppliers and industry partners to share insight, test ideas and drive better ways of working across the sector. Our Group innovation venture Future Works brings together manufacturers and professional groups to address current and future challenges facing the furniture industry.
With three decades of expertise, the Future Works team develops tools and initiatives that advance technology, sustainability and internationalisation, helping to shape a more resilient and responsible future for our industry.
