New ways of working
With workplaces increasingly embracing flexible cultures, Forsters recognised the importance of future-proofing its space and fostering new ways of working through innovative design. Spanning six floors, the office features diverse areas including meeting rooms, collaboration zones, open-plan workspaces, and an outdoor terrace.
We engaged extensively with business stakeholders to understand the functional requirements of each space, ranging from client-facing lounges to tech-enabled podcast rooms. Working closely with the project team, we tailored solutions to meet these specific demands while meticulously managing the budget and ensuring alignment with the project vision and design intent throughout.
Flexible and future-proofed
A quarter of the desks in the HQ are sit-stand, while the remainder can be easily converted from fixed height to electronically adjustable with minimal components, ensuring adaptability for changing business needs. Smart lockers were integrated to further enhance flexibility and support hot-desking. Additionally, we collaborated closely with the AV consultant to develop bespoke, tech-enabled pieces that cater to the multifaceted nature of Forsters’ work environment.
Timeless design
Central to the project was a timeless design achieved through carefully selected furniture in neutral earth tones, meeting Forsters’ everyday needs and maintaining the integrity of ID:SR’s design intent. High-quality finishes such as marble, Fenix, and velvet were employed in client-facing areas, ensuring efficient budget allocation while reflecting the firm’s prestigious status.
Sustainability first
Forsters’ sustainability goals for the project guided every aspect of the furniture selection process. Working with the project’s sustainability consultant, we conducted a thorough analysis of every product to ensure compliance with rigorous BREEAM Excellent certification standards. One key decision was to reuse all task chairs from Forsters’ previous sites, thereby reducing the scheme’s environmental impact – a process which we managed from start to finish. This emphasis on reuse was complemented by carefully selecting new pieces featuring high levels of recycled and recyclable materials.
