AstraZeneca has relocated their UK headquarters to 2 Pancras Square in Kings Cross, relocating its team of specialist colleagues from Luton. The high spec fit-out supports the business’s new workplace strategy, which encourages office-based working with added flexibility for staff.

Ekho Studio

Occupying 37,000 sq ft of premium office space, AstraZeneca’s new HQ brings its UK talent together under one roof in the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter in Kings Cross. The biopharmaceutical company partnered with Ekho Studio to bring to life their bold vision for the new space, focussing on intelligent, authentic design that fosters flexibility, innovation, and collaboration.

We are proud to have worked alongside the project team and designers at Ekho Studio to craft a high-quality furniture package that promotes dynamic working through a variety of different settings, from soft seating areas, flexible meeting rooms and private booths, to a welcoming reception, flexible restaurant space and roof terrace. Employee wellbeing and local sourcing were key priorities when developing the furniture specification; we worked closely with the design team to select the right range of highly comfortable and functional furniture finished in warm, contemporary tones, and where possible sourced locally from UK manufacturers.

We held extensive showroom tours and product mock-ups in multiple phases, to ensure the whole project team, including the technical team and senior client team were happy with the furniture selections and functionality of the pieces. When it came to delivery and installation, we successfully navigated complex site restrictions and adapted our delivery programme to ensure the project was delivered right on schedule.
