WPP’s Milan campus brings together 35 agencies and 2,000 people in a modern and innovative hub in the historic district of San Cristoforo. The design inspires people to do their best work, collaborate, and learn from each other.
Extending over 27,000 square metres, the WPP Milan Campus provides unique spaces for co-creation and has been designed to enable greater collaboration and encourage creativity across teams to benefit clients.
WPP’s campus design, conceived by BDG architecture + design, renovates an iconic Milanese industry building to bring WPP’s team together in a substantial new workspace. Previously spread across various sites, the co-located agencies have access to innovative work, social and event spaces equipped with the latest technology and amenities, including restaurants, a market, and a pharmacy.
In line with WPP’s campuses worldwide, the new building aims to obtain BREEAM certification and was redeveloped with sustainability at the forefront. The campus retains the site’s existing unique architectural footprint while improving its environmental performance.
Since 2016, The Furniture Practice has proudly partnered with WPP and collaborated with BDG to develop the specification, supply, and deliver the furniture for award-winning projects & WPP campuses internationally.
We worked closely with multiple WPP companies for the Milan Campus to deliver on their brand identity requirements while ensuring consistency across the broader scheme. Our team sourced locally designed and manufactured furniture while also ensuring that all products would meet strict building requirements and fire regulations.
Delivering the project during the covid pandemic and amidst complications due to Brexit presented significant challenges. Our team worked hard to complete the installation smoothly, preempting many risks and challenges before they arose and working efficiently to ensure all companies could relocate to the new campus on time.
