New Acres in Wandsworth is Legal & General’s flagship development for a new generation of living, offering high-quality, purpose-built rental homes in one of London’s most sought-after areas. Alongside its residential offering, the development plays a key role in revitalising central Wandsworth, creating a vibrant, community-focused destination.
Having partnered with Legal & General and designers Lister and Lister on on more than ten schemes across the UK, our role at New Acres was to evolve and refine Legal & General’s core furniture package for 322 apartments and the building’s amenity spaces.
Collaborating with Legal & General and interior design studio Lister + Lister, we tailored the furniture solutions to meet the specific needs of New Acres, ensuring every piece reflected the project’s focus on contemporary design, materiality, comfort and durability.
Materiality was a key consideration throughout the specification, alongside a strong emphasis on responsible sourcing. All furniture was produced within the UK and Europe, with key items, such as apartment sofas, manufactured in the UK. Recycled materials were incorporated where possible, including Rely Dining Chairs crafted from post-consumer plastic and lounge chairs upholstered in Kvadrat’s ReWool fabric.
We developed bespoke furniture solutions for both the apartments and amenity spaces, designed to meet the aesthetic, functional and material requirements of the scheme. A standout example is the custom-made lounge sofa, blending clean lines with exceptional comfort to complement the project’s high-end aesthetic and elevate the communal living experience.
New Acres was delivered as part of a wider portfolio of five Legal & General developments across the UK, all scheduled for completion in 2024. With tight timelines and complex requirements, our Living team led a meticulous approach from initial brief to handover. By closely managing every stage of the process, we ensured the delivery met the highest standards and aligned fully with project expectations.
New Acres has been recognised for its exceptional design, winning Mix Awards North 2024 – Project of the Year for its contribution to the living interiors sector.
