AstraZeneca relocated its UK headquarters to 2 Pancras Square in King’s Cross, bringing specialist teams together from Luton into a single, high-quality workspace. The new headquarters supports AstraZeneca’s workplace strategy, encouraging office-based working with the flexibility needed for modern hybrid patterns.
“TFP were able to leverage their tremendous knowledge of the market and buying power to secure what we needed and to deliver this within budget. Another key benefit of working with TFP was their flexibility and responsiveness. They were flexible enough to modify their ways of working and processes to fit in with ours as required.”

Positioned within London’s Knowledge Quarter, the 37,000 sq ft space places the organisation at the heart of the UK’s science and innovation community. Working with Ekho Studio, AstraZeneca set out to create a workplace rooted in intelligent, authentic design — a space that fosters flexibility, innovation and collaboration.
We were appointed to develop a high-quality furniture package that supports a wide variety of workstyles, from soft seating areas and flexible meeting rooms to private focus booths, a welcoming reception, a dynamic restaurant space and a roof terrace overlooking King’s Cross.
Employee wellbeing and local sourcing were key priorities throughout the specification process. We collaborated closely with Ekho Studio to select comfortable, functional furniture finished in warm, contemporary tones, prioritising UK manufacturers wherever possible to reduce carbon impact and support local industry.
To ensure complete alignment across the project team, we held extensive showroom tours and multi-phase product mock-ups, enabling designers, the technical team and senior client stakeholders to experience furniture options first-hand. This rigorous engagement process ensured that each selection met the project’s aesthetic, functional and budget expectations.
During delivery and installation, we successfully navigated complex site restrictions and adapted our programme to maintain progress without disruption. The project was completed on schedule, resulting in a workplace that empowers AstraZeneca’s teams, enhances wellbeing and reflects the organisation’s commitment to innovation.
