Meet the team: Tony Burdon – Global Business Development Manager
Lover of bright orange socks, the latest white sneakers, and dashing around London on his bike. Originally from Northumberland, and like many of the team, Tony studied in Leeds. After stints in Manchester and Sydney he moved to London in 2017, and joined TFP in 2020 as our Global Business Development Manager.
Over to you, Tony…
What might we not know about you?
I was originally going to be called Elvis, until a late intervention by my Dad.
How did you end up working in the furniture industry?
It was a conscious decision after working in the fashion industry to satisfy my design needs but work on larger scale, more impactful commercial projects.
What do you like about working at TFP?
The freedom to build your own future, the dedication and ‘all in it together’ mentality, and of course – the Thursday night (Zoom) drinks.
Do you have a favourite supplier or product?
I’m a big fan of Jaime Hayon, and I’ve got my eye on the JH97 chair by Fritz Hansen.
Anywhere you’d recommend for a holiday (when we could travel a bit more freely)?
You definitely can’t go wrong with The Cinque Terre…
What are you most likely to be doing outside of work?
I’ve got a thing for checking out pop-up restaurants and pubs. Of course, I love a good pint and was partial to going to gigs pre-covid, which I’m really missing. To balance it out, I do like running and can sometimes be found kicking a football round on a Sunday morning.
